Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) - PLAY
Last April, we were in Atlanta for our nephew’s birthday, and we decided to hit up MODA while we were there - we were so glad we did! MODA is a small, intimate museum, but their exhibits will blow your mind! The current exhibit at that time was Designing Playful Cities, a super interactive exhibit that focused on the importance of play.
When we first entered the building, there was a hallway, filled with a pool noodle installation that was so fun to run through. In the room to the side, there were large multi-shaped pieces of white board that you could put together to build a masterpiece. These were similar to small building toys, but their life-size made them ten times more fun. Contrary to Vinay’s face, it really was so fun.
The back room was full of Magis Spun Chairs, created by architect and designer Thomas Heatherwick. We have these at some businesses in Nashville too. I am trying to convince Vinay to buy one for home! They also had a circular, musically-interactive pad. Each step changed the color and sound of the shape.
MODA was awesome! It’s a perfect short visit, family-friendly, and inspirational!
