FACE MURAL WALL

So we have this floating wall in our home that divides the kitchen from the living room. It’s my favorite wall. I have found so many wallpapers that I really want for that wall, but wallpapering is expensive, so I decided to grab some Sharpie paint pens and start drawing!

I’ve been following Maya Bee Illustrations for a while now on Instagram, and I am super inspired by her human face drawings. She was the inspiration for the wall!

I started with a blank grey wall. I believe the color is Flannel Gray from Behr. Then.. well.. I just started drawing.

After ten hours of drawing over multiple days, I finally finished the last face drawing. I left one spot for Vinay.. just one - haha. Once I finished drawing with the Sharpie paint pens, I took a pencil and pink acrylic paint, flipped the pencil around and used the eraser to stamp cheeks!

UPDATE - After having this wall covered in faces for six months, I couldn't stop staring at the faces I didn’t like or the spacing that was too close or too far away. So I painted over the faces and painted the entire wall Ash Blue from Behr. I don’t regret drawing the faces, but maybe one day I’ll be able to afford wallpaper.
