Rock Island State Park is home to the Great Falls, a 30 foot GORGEOUS waterfall. We’ve been to Rock Island many times, and the trips never disappoint. We usually park by Powerhouse Rd. and climb down into the falls. Keep in mind, it is not safe to climb down into the falls area when the dam is releasing water, so always be aware of your surroundings and check the TVA water release schedule linked above.

From this parking lot, you can also access the Great Falls, the Warm Hole, or the Cold Hole using the Upstream Trail, also located at Powerhouse Rd. When we have been in the past, the swimming hole trails have been closed, unfortunately.
