STONY MAN - SHENANDOAH NATIONAL PARK

Shenandoah is amazing beautiful. You can never get tired of those lush green hills. We had the opportunity to visit Shenandoah while staying with my sister in Washington, DC, so of course we jumped on the opportunity! As we came into the park, we stopped at the visitor center, as we always do, and found the perfect spot for a picnic! I’d highly recommend stopping at each National Park visitor center. They always have something unique to offer!

We didn’t have a ton of time to hike, so we chose the Stony Man trail, which turned out to be easy and gorgeous! There is a parking lot at the bottom of the trail, but it was packed, so we ended up parking a bit down the street and walking to the trailhead. It’s a quick hike with a bit of elevation gain, and the views are so rewarding! You’ll get to a small overlook.. and you’ll already be amazed, but as you hike higher, you’ll receive overlooks that just keep getting better!

The hike is a loop, so once you start descending, you’ll be heading right back down to the parking lot. There are also a few spots that make it easy to turn around part of the way through, as well. The views on our walk back to the car weren’t too shabby either!
