PHOENIX DESERT BOTANICAL GARDEN

The Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix is absolutely amazing. They have divided up the garden into different sections including The Sonoran Desert, The Succulent Garden, The Edible Garden, and more. They host music events, special exhibitions, and honestly, it’s really one of those places where the membership is worth it because there is just so much to do.

We began in the front garden, surrounded by gorgeous organ pipe cacti.

Next, we ventured into the Cactus and Succulent Gardens. The extra cool part in this area is the awesome arch overhang tunnels.

Next up is the Plants and People of the Sonoran Desert trail. This loop is pretty awesome. If you have kids, they will absolutely love it. There are multiple traditional structures that you can go into.

The Heritage Garden is such a peaceful area. I love running water… the sounds, the texture, just everything. The Heritage Garden has a circular installation surrounded by an infinity waterfall. Vinay discovered that if you stand in the middle of the circle, it has a surround-sound affect. We could have stayed in that spot all day.

Within the area of the herb and edible garden, there is a family plaza, which might be the most peaceful area in the park. I legitimately fell asleep in the butterfly chair. Picture your dream backyard oasis, and this is it. Running peaceful water, space, a mix of industrial design and nature.. it’s just perfect. The pictures do not do this spot justice.

There were a few more trails that we didn’t get to, as we had to run off to the airport, but we will definitely be back!
