COLOR MIXING WITH PANTONE

I found these amazing Pantone color cards on Amazon and couldn’t wait to do a project with them! My professional artist for this project is three year old Emma.

I was also inspired by the work of German artist, Imi Knoebel, for the construction of the cardboard pieces.
Knoebel is a current artist known for his minimalist style.

Here’s what we used..

- White paint and black paint
- Various other colors
- Paintbrushes
- Cardboard strips
- Small cups for mixing
- Glue
- Washi tape

TIME TO MIX!

Emma and I had a lot of fun making this part a game.
Shuffle the cards and take a guess - which color will come next?

Let your child take control of the mixing. Yes, it will waste a lot of paint, but they will learn from their mixing mistakes. Paint each cardboard stick one of your new mixed colors!
* The cards have a thick laminate coating, so you can easily wipe off any paint that gets on them. *

Take a quick play break to give the cardboard pieces a chance to dry.
Come back and begin assembling! Start with the frame, then move on to the middle pieces.
